Last one is done

I am still in the infusion center getting my flush of fluids to push the chemo through but I am officially done with chemo. 🙂  I took some pictures while I was here.

The first one is my nurse, Julie, that I have had for 3 out of my four chemo sessions.  She is very nice and is going to try to come to a gig when we have one in town.  They were warming my arm for the IV.

The second pic is my last minute of chemo.  I found it comforting to watch the numbers go down as we waited.

The final pic is a certificate that the nurses signed for me.  I think this one will be framed and put up somewhere to remind me of this part of my journey.

This session could be a hard one though.  I saw Dr. McCormack this morning and he confirmed what I thought.  All of the changes to my body are cumulative as we go through chemo.  He was very honest and said that this one may be worse than the last one.  He said the emotions are normal as I get more and more fatigued.  I will just have to work through these.

This weekend I met a young lady (mid 50’s) that was going through radiation.  She saw me and stopped to ask how I was.  We chatted a bit about our journeys.  I was happy to see that she was working and the side effects of the radiation did not prevent it.

Today I met another young lady that has her journey.  It was nice to chat about our differences and similarities with out journeys.  Her journey is a bit longer but she was doing well.  It’s nice to see that HOPE abounds.

Well, they have given me the go ahead to leave so I am out of here hopefully to not come back. 🙂  I will write more later and let you know how the last session is going.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and well wishes.  It is so good to have you as part of my armor against this crappy disease.  HOPE is real and beautiful!
