Cody Updates by Mom

Hello all
I’m sitting here watching the super bowl and thinking about my recent fight.  I am happy to say that this fight doesn’t have a chance against me.  Saw my doctor team tonight and as long as all looks good in the morning I am going home!!!!!!!!!    Yay!!!!!   Tomorrow I will be out of here.   😃

I am actually pleasantly surprised at the taste of the food I have been getting.  Tonight was puréed lasagna with mashed potatoes and gravy.  I am learning what it feels like when I need to stop eating.  I can tell when something gets stuck where the connection was made.  The doctor says that my insides are still swollen so that should go away in a few weeks.  I am basically independent today as I don’t have to ask to go for a walk or get up and do stuff.  I like it when I am in control of my healing.

Thank you to everyone that came to visit!  I am thrilled to say that there will not need to be anymore hospital visits in the near future.

Jim has been working with Cody at home to get some good tasting food to purée for me over the next week or so.  They both came down to see me today, which was great.  We went for a couple walks and got to see the chapel here.  It is an amazing beautiful place.  I could not have done this without those two.

So, I have fought through all the major recovery and I am very ready to move forward with the next step.  Thank you for all the prayers.  I truly believe they are working.
