Finally! One more week down! :)

It is truly amazing to me how time seems to slow down as you start feeling better but still can’t get out of “house arrest”.  I know, its for my own good to make sure I can recover fully but it isn’t much fun.  At least I was able to escape a couple times this week.

I had lunch with my brother this week which was very nice.  It was nice to get out of the house and go somewhere even though it was only for an hour or so.  The best day was Thursday.  I spent the majority of the day at my work visiting with my work family.  It was great to see everyone!  It was really fun as only Jim and one person in my department knew I was coming so I was able to run around and surprise people for a couple hours.  Thanks, Dan, for being okay with me completely disrupting and distracting our department for awhile.  It was also great to have contact with people for part of the day.  The people contact is what I miss the most.  Jim and I went out with his previous boss and a couple coworkers for lunch too.  It was a very fun day.

It was interesting that more than a few people were surprised at how normal I looked.  They really didn’t know what to expect and apparently were surprised that I am still me just a bit thinner.  Actually one of my friends said that she thought I would look like this sickly, shriveled person.  Glad that I was able to stop that thinking.

My weight loss has slowed down and I am only down another 1/2 pound in the last week.  This is good, especially since I will be seeing the doctor next week.  If I lose too much weight they will likely need to monitor my eating and that wouldn’t be very much fun.  I am certain as I get more active on a daily basis that I may drop some more but I am happy that I am able to keep my eating on track and stay healthy.

Next week is the week of doctor appointments.  Tuesday, I will find out when I can go back to work.  Thursday, I will find out when I can have my next surgery for the reconstruction.  I am secretly hoping that he will say Monday the 9th so I can have it before returning to work but not too confident on that.  Friday, I see the last surgeon and looking forward to spending the day with my sister in law, Trish and my mom.

This weekend will be great as we are headed up to watch the final day of Cody’s robotics tournament in Duluth.  It will be great to see him as he has been gone since Wednesday.  Not that he has been home much over the build season anyway.

I am happy that Cody said that he was expecting my surgery to really change his life but it hasn’t.  His life has stayed pretty much as it has been.  I was so happy to hear this as I have made a very concerted effort to not have my changes mean significant changes for my family.  Looking forward to getting closer to the end of this road and back to my somewhat new normal life.  Have a great weekend all!
