Almonds – Great Snack

Almonds are a great source of protein.  1 cup of almonds is a good 20 grams of protein.  Protein is very important and I am always looking for things to help me with easy food during the day.  The reason that I like almonds so much is that I have found so many different varieties of flavors.  Below are a few that I really like.  There are so many out there that you can find the flavor that you love easily.

Mocha – Fisher actually has an almond flavor that tastes like chocolate and coffee but even more than that, it has caffeine!  I am not kidding.  Protein, chocolate and caffeine all in one happy little snack.  It is about as perfect as ever.

Dill – I don’t remember the brand but I found that if you love pickles you will really like the dill almonds.  They have a great sharpness to their flavor.

Blueberry – There is a line of fruit flavored almonds that I really like from Blue Diamond.  These are nice because I can pretend that they are candy but they really do not have a lot of sugar.

Dark Chocolate Coated – I found an almond at Fleet Farm and it had roughly 1 gram of sugar per almond.  I could have 3-4 of these without having a sugar issue.  This is truly a treat because true chocolate coating is involved.

Vanilla Crème – I think that Fisher makes these too but I really like combining them with the cocoa coated or mocha as a nice treat that has very little sugar.  They are what I consider a “happy” treat!
