Today we met with Dr. Kendrick and his staff. While it was good to see him after 9 years, I would have preferred just a bump into him in a restaurant instead of Cody’s cancer. He did, however, give us his thoughts on the diagnosis, cure options and chances and a start of a plan. The great news is that he believes, similar to the endoscopy docs, that we have caught this very early. He mentioned that he feels this is early detected cancer and very curable with surgery. Next Wednesday, April 3rd, we will be meeting with the surgeon at Mayo. Dr. Kendrick was the surgeon that performed my Total Gastrectomy 9 years ago and we are very happy to be able to get on his schedule next week. We hope to understand his direction on next steps with surgery and timing. We also look to understand what would be next after surgery for possible oncology treatment. We are hopeful that with the CT scan results not showing any metastatic cancer in other organs, that surgery will be an option to remove all of the cancer from Cody.…
Updates from blood work & CT scan. On 3/21/2024, Cody had blood work done and a full CT scan of the Chest, Abdomen and Pelvis. Great news! There is no sign of any metastatic cancers in his other organs. Doctors note was that there is nothing of concern on any of his scans!

I can attest to the fact that it is harder to hear “Mom, my biopsy came back, and I have cancer.” My son, Cody, has stomach cancer.
